At The Hambrick Foundation, we're passionate about empowering educators who are making a real difference. Today, we had the privilege of delivering a grant to Allison Boarland at the Special Education Association of Peoria County (SEAPCO). Funds from the grant have been allocated to the purchase of a Cricut Maker for SEAPCO RISE students. RISE, the organization's transitional educational program, is a collaborative effort between students, families, cooperating school districts, and adult service providers.

Business opportunities continue to grow for the team at SEAPCO RISE with the help of a THF grant.

"The Cricut purchase will allow students to create products to sell, working on communication and social skills, as well as sorting, sizing, and handling money—all critical for the job world and independent living," Allison explained in her application.

The Cricut will play a vital role in the program's “Fundraising/Career Fridays,” where students run small businesses creating custom items like t-shirts, greeting cards, and ornaments. These businesses not only teach entrepreneurial skills but also fund community outings and activities, providing students with a well-rounded educational experience.

With this new Cricut, SEAPCO RISE can continue building confidence and independence in their students, while fulfilling product needs for local businesses. It’s a win-win that will benefit students and the community alike. THF is a proud customer of SEAPCO RISE and we're excited to see their business opportunities continue to grow!
