Shannon Johnson and Melanie Simmons of Sarasota, Fla.-based ReImagine Dance received a THF grant in March to purchase costumes, dance shoes, volunteer appreciation gifts and other items for their upcoming dance recital.

The recital, which took place May 20, 2023, was an opportunity for their students to show off their talents and reinforce ReImagine Dance's motto "my ability is stronger than my disability."

Johnson said she and Simmons are blessed to have the opportunity to teach their dancers and let the world see their capabilities.

"The amount of joy these individuals bring to us and others around them is amazing," she added.

Services at Reimagine Dance are free and run on donations received from the community and businesses.

"Without the support of the Hambrick Foundation we would not have been able to participate in the end of the year recital," she added. "It's an opportunity that allows the world to see just how amazing our dancers are."
